Recently we’ve been doing a lot of work around helping Independent Retailers to get digitally connected and get their brands online.
We have found that almost 50% of independent retailers in Shopping Centre’s, including fresh food, café/restaurant, new startups and lease assignees did not have a managed online presence. For a retail business to survive in todays competitive environment, business owners need to be easily found online and use contemporary methods in finding ways to grow - their brand awareness, customer base and sales. With this in mind, there exists a significant opportunity to drive traffic and sales through enabling independent retailers. A modern website, google listing, Facebook page and Instagram account can all be setup in less than a day, at a low cost with low fuss. We know this because we have helped many independent retailers take the step into digital this year and continue to receive requests to help small retailers onto these free and easy to use platforms. We have developed a targeted one-day workshop, of four sessions: Website building, Google my Business, Facebook and Instagram. Our method of working side by side with the retailers through each step means that real outcomes are achieved on the day. The result – we now have 100’s more enthused retailers with a website, google listing and social platforms to tell their brand story and promote their wow factor. Better yet, they have the knowledge and tools to grow and maintain it themselves. In turn this will drive their customers into Shopping Centre’s with a motivation to purchase. Our favorite part of this experience is seeing the win/win for everyone: retailers, customers and property groups. The feedback from the retailers has been fantastic as they finally overcome their reluctance to move into the digital world and realize just how important an online presence is. We like to agree with them! If your retail business or asset team would benefit from this innovative one-day workshop, feel free to contact us. We love to chat all things retail and finding solutions.
